First Steps in NUBIGON

Launching NUBIGON

Double-click the NUBIGON desktop shortcut for launch. Subscribers will be prompted to provide their license key, name, company name, and email address. Upon submission of this information, the window disappears. After a brief moment, NUBIGON will launch automatically.

Verifying Graphics Card Settings

If you use a laptop with an integrated graphics card, make sure that NUBIGON uses your dedicated NVIDIA graphics card. The Console window of NUBIGON shows which card is currently in use. We try to force NUBIGON to run on NVIDIA cards. In rare cases when this could fail, please contact our support team.

Working with Octrees

Octree (OCT) is the native file format of NUBIGON. For working with point cloud files larger than 2-3GB, we recommend you build an octree from those files and using the octree.

Click here for more on building octrees, and here for a video tutorial.

Under Edit > Preferences you can adjust the Memory and GPU cache sizes. They control the number of points to be rendered. By default, they are set to two and one. Feel free to increase them to obtain a better visualization quality when working with octrees.

Introductory video tutorials can be found here.
